Project Overview
Primary bathroom renovation in a two-story colonial. The original bathroom had a fiberglass shower surround, cultured marble vanity, and dated brass fixtures. We removed everything and installed a walk-in glass shower, double vanity, and freestanding tub.
Analysis
The fiberglass surround was cracked at the base and showing water damage on the adjacent wall. The single vanity was too small for two users. Flooring was sheet vinyl with curling edges near the tub. The exhaust fan was undersized and not vented properly.
Process
After demolition, we addressed the water damage on the shared wall and replaced rotted subfloor near the tub. New plumbing rough-in took three days. Waterproofing and tile installation took five days. Glass measurement was done after tile cured, with installation two weeks later. Vanity, tub, and fixtures completed the project.
Outcome
The bathroom now has a spacious walk-in shower with bench seating and a rain head. The double vanity provides ample storage and counter space. The freestanding tub sits under the window as a focal point. Properly vented exhaust fan prevents moisture buildup.

Methods & Techniques
Shower pan built with pre-slope, waterproof membrane, and cement board walls. Glass enclosure measured and installed after tile completion. Plumbing rough-in relocated for the double vanity and freestanding tub. Exhaust fan vented through the roof with insulated duct.
